Planning & Zoning Commission

The Unified Government of Georgetown-Quitman County Planning & Zoning Commission is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on rezoning cases, granting variances, preliminary subdivision plans, and zoning ordinance amendments.

Our Planning & Zoning board consists of a seven (7) member’s board each, appointed by the County Commission for a term of three (3) years.  The Planning & Zoning Commission is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on rezoning cases, preliminary subdivision plans, and zoning ordinance amendments.

PLANNING AND ZONING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE 

To ensure that we are making the best decision, our local River Valley Regional Commission assists in each presented ruling. River Valley RC is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations on rezoning cases, preliminary subdivision plans, and zoning ordinance amendments. Also to include attending monthly meetings, researching development topics, staff reports, etc.

Meetings are held at 25 Old School Rd, Georgetown, GA 39854 in the Commission Board room.
The 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
